CompTIA tackles company cloud security concerns

IT and service provider CompTIA has revealed a publicly-available cloud resource which matches the security of other computing environments.

CompTIA Vice President Jim Hamilton said, “Despite the questions security incidents raise, transition to the cloud continues to accelerate, thanks to the benefits that can be gained in areas such as agility or scalability.”

By identifying and mapping out the response to security concerns brought about through a shift of data and services to the public cloud, organisations can have their security covered from system outages and data loss.

CompTIA identified a number of ways in which organisations can tackle their security concerns, including building trust through evaluation, understanding which data is meant for the cloud, knowing compliance requirements, and understanding the various views of security.

To help combat potential problems, businesses should attempt to understand individual departments’ desire for cloud solutions regardless of the security profile they present, and implement company-wide policies to help combat the potential risks.
